Hutchinson Consulting Engineers completed the investigation, design and construction supervision of a new pedestrian footbridge on Gills Road in Albany on behalf of Auckland Transport in 2018. The footbridge is located on a future walkway around Gills Reserve and forms part of a much larger upgrade of Oteha Valley Road – Gills Road Link.
The bridge comprises a 20m single span concrete beam bridge and was constructed between January and April 2018 by Downer. All engineering works associated to the bridge investigation, design, procurement, and construction monitoring were completed by this office. The construction supervision was carefully managed throughout by our engineers and the bridge was opened to the public in April 2018.
