Carpark Upgrade, Tawharanui Regional Park

Once a large private farm, the Tawharanui Regional Park is now New Zealand’s first integrated open sanctuary, bringing together conservation, sustainable farming and recreational activities in one spectacular coastal zone.

Tawharanui Regional Park is one of Auckland’s busiest regional parks and can see vehicle numbers up to 40,000 per month during the peak of summer.

Hutchinson Consulting Engineers worked with Auckland Council in 2022 to upgrade the existing chipseal/metalled main carpark to a new sealed carpark, install a new boardwalk between the split carpark levels, and complete a general tidy up of the area.
