Hutchinson Consulting Engineers were engaged by Auckland Council to deliver a new toilet block and upgraded wastewater disposal at Glasgow Park Reserve in Waimauku, a popular recreation area featuring a playground, flying fox, sports field, equestrian facilities and community hall.
Following a feasibility assessment of potential sites and local board review, the facility was located adjacent to the playground on Freshfields Road. Hutchinson designed and detailed a custom-built reinforced concrete toilet block for the site, and the wastewater network serving the neighbouring community hall was upgraded and integrated into the new facility.
Having designed both the building and the wastewater upgrade, Hutchinson worked hand in hand with Stronghold Group and Innoflow Technologies through construction, resolving site queries quickly with practical and occasionally innovative solutions. The facility opened to the public in May 2025.
