Hutchinson Consulting Engineers were engaged by AT to complete a preliminary assessment of an under designed retaining wall at Paremoremo Road in September 2022. Following severe weather events in early 2023, the existing wall completely failed, resulting in complete loss of the west bound lane.
Hutchinson provided professional engineering services for the instability repair including investigation, design, and construction supervision. The construction of the 52m long palisade retaining wall was completed in November 2023.
