Point Wells Boat Ramp Replacement

The Point Wells Boat Ramp upgrade included the replacement of the existing damaged boat ramp, the upgrade of the surrounding launching and trailer manoeuvring areas, and the upgrade / maintenance of the existing public SW infrastructure.

The existing boat ramp had significantly deteriorated and was presenting reduced functionality as well as safety concerns to the users of both the ramp and the adjacent beaches.

The Hutchinson design for the replacement ramp structure required to be robust and durable to the long term coastal marine environment, and also required to address the safety concerns, primarily the sudden shoulder drop off that previously created a risk to boat launchers and beach users alike.

Hutchinson supervision of the ramp construction, coupled with a highly skilled and reputable contractor paying attention to detail ensured a great result for Auckland Council and has received considerable commendation from the local community.
